Ex Phys and fitness training!

One of the most important parts of your recovery and prevention of injury is your rehabilitation and overall fitness. At The Osteo Collective we have all your bases covered! From individualised exercise physiology to group fitness classes.

Exercise safely!

With class options varying from foundational to advanced, there are a variety of options that can accommodate all ages, abilities and fitness levels. Come and exercise in a fun and supportive environment where functional exercise is properly applied to reduce your risk of injury, make everyday activities easier, improve your quality of life and take your training to the next level.

Start with Exercise Physiology

At The Osteo Collective we tackle fitness training slightly differently. We don’t want you to completely just dive into the deep end! Building your body’s strength and fitness is a crucial component to healthy living but it can take it’s toll on the body if done incorrectly. So to prevent you from injuring yourself doing something that should be beneficial and fun, we require all our exercise patients do an initial exercise physiology assessment or treatment!

During this 1:1 exercise physiology assessment we will determine if and where there are any muscular imbalances, weaknesses or lack of activation. With this information our amazing EP will recommend the best form of exercise for you.

That may be a recommendation for:

  • Further 1:1 exercise physiology treatments for those that need a little more specific training and aren’t quite ready for the group classes. Or for people who just prefer to train by themselves 1:1.
  • Progression into a group class, but still with a need for an individualised program to better activate and strengthen your specific weaknesses. For this our 1:3 group exercise physiology classes are ideal.
  • For some people, you may be ready to jump into our bigger classes or have your choice of what class you would like to do. We have 2 options with our bigger (but still small) 1:6 classes. The first is a stretch and stabilise class designed as a more low impact, mat, body weighted session working on improving your mobility and core strength. The next is our functional fitness class. This is our high intensity, cardio and strength building circuit class. You may build a sweat with this one!
  • The last recommendation may also be a referral to one of our other services. During the assessment it may be observed that you are currently suffering an injury or muscular tightness that will impede your ability to progress into exercise. For this our massage or osteopathy services might be the option for you!
Question Mark

What do i bring/wear?

Loose fitting clothing is the ideal attire to wear during your exercise class. It is also a good idea to bring yourself a bottle of water. Mats are provided but if you would prefer to use your own you are more than welcome to do so.

Question Mark

I currently have an injury, can i still do the classes?

Yes. Our exercise physiologist is well trained to modify your exercises based on your presenting complaint. In fact AEP's are fantastic at rehabilitating injuries. During your initial 1:1 session your injury will be examined, be sure to let your EP know any injuries you are suffering from.

Question Mark

How many sessions should i do?

Your EP will discuss with you their recommendation of how many sessions you may require during your initial consult to help with your rehabilitation. A home exercise program will always be provided so that you can recover as quickly as possible. However you may wish to continue your exercise in the 1:1, 1:3 or group classes to further progress or maintain your strength and fitness levels!
